Like a true southern gentleman, my Gramps loved food and showed love with food. We shared stories about him over coconut cake (his favorite) in his honor:
Seattle is turning more and more toward the sun with every passing day. Finally some sunlight is sneaking into the dark and dusty corners.Phinally aphter phive years of reading, writing, and working R gave birth to a 350 page Ph.D!
My favorite exchange with the exhausted writer:
Me: "Did you take the garbage cans back in?"
Ry: (Pause) "No. I don't even know who I am anymore."
Me: "Ok. Just checking."
Phinished at last...and now...for the defense!
"I side with the defendant!"We spent all of last Saturday running errands by bike and had the most diverse cultural weekend that included: looking at REI (purchased a new BPA free waterbottle), donuts and coffee at Vivace, rode to Hec Ed for the STEP competition, rode to the Montlake Alehouse to watch the Boston/Cleveland game, went to a birthday party roast where dear friends ridicule the guest of honor, then Ry went to a warehouse party complete with burlesque show and fire breather, and topped it off with a 23 year-old virtuoso cellist, whose repertoire included Beethoven, Joni Mitchell, and Led Zeppelin.
R and I tried to ride bikes and hold hands like they do in Denmark! (Susie)
We weren't as stylish and fashionable as these newlyweds though! One of my most important new updates is Ben and my new commute...or shall I say:
Launching...
But then summer hit Seattle with 80 degree weather. What is that body part?
That is a sunburned clavicle! I got roasted at the lake while Ry and his dad windsurfed. I wanted to have fishbelly white skin this summer but now I'm toasty and tender.
I'm interested in this...
It is supposed to rain this week, so we only got a snapshot of summer. All in good time.
