Spring Break...Scholar Gone Wild

We finished up Jeanne's week of turning thirty with a nice weekend in Portland. I checked out the Da Vinci exhibit at Omsi with some friends (and now have 25 revelations about the Mona Lisa that I didn't have before, whew!)

Also, a couple exciting purchases below from my mandatory Powell's trip.

We leave in the morning for a week in Boston. Ryan will be busy with this...while I'm looking forward to seeing some old friends, stomping around the city, and eating some lobster. Also, there is a Todd English restaurant IN our hotel. Fancier and fancier.

It's time to shore up the details for our trip to Boston. Ryan still needs to finish the paper he will be giving but he works best in the eleventh hour anyway.

We got a NICE hotel (thank you downturn in the tourist industry) with enough room to smuggle in some special visitors from NYC for a night!

Nerd Olympics

Ryan has a term for a good number of my interests, habits and hobbies.

He calls them Nerd Olympics. This is an umbrella term for everything from my obsession with my geography coloring book, brain puzzles, the fact that I walk and read at the same time, my love of historical documentaries, to-do lists and my label maker (with which I made a label for itself). I say give me a Nerd Olympics and I will bring home the gold!
