Welcome 2008!

Holiday Adventures

The holiday break has been filled with visits with family, crafting, eating lots of food, and general relaxation. Already a new year is here and with it all the new beginnings.
Below are some moments from the break.

Grams' Christmas Cactus loves her 'sanctuary' and was full of lovely blooms.

Beleek loved my projects (body pillow case with embellishments) and wanted to lie down on everything I was working on. (see above)

In Spokane we went cross-country skiing both on the mountain and around the neighborhood. It was a White Christmas with even more snow the next day.

While skiing around the neighborhood we met this sweet horse.

Festive decoration from nature:

Jane's paper cranes went to good use as a garland on Gram's mini-tree.

Making handmade ornaments from felt and beads (thanks to Grams' tutelage).

We threw a surprise 40th Birthday for Aunt Connie.

I started Aunt Connie and Aunt Denise on the path to crocheting. They are both a quick study!

I'm looking forward to the new year and a new addition to my blog. In 2008 I will be creating a series of posts called "A Day in the Life". A photo-a-day-ish project to document different moments throughout the year. Happy New Year!

Holiday Blog Before The Break

We have had an adventurous few weeks with the flooding rain (see below) the end of the quarter wrapping up and the beginning of holiday festivities. On schedule with break relaxation, I've started the RATS book which is really interesting and fascinatingly repelling. I also did some 'handmade' gift shopping, which I will post after the recipients receive them, so I don't ruin the surprise! Enjoy the glowy coziness of the season!

Cold Weather Hibernation

With the cold weather we are allowed to stay home and get cozy. In preparation I have the following books ready for the break....an eclectic mix for sure!

Welcome December!

We welcomed December with a snowfall. Everything is soft and magical in the snow, and though it is supposed to melt by tomorrow, it is here for today!

ThanksgivingS

We were able to have TWO Thanksgiving dinners this year. Below is R's brother's house and his dad's famous pies. Note the perfected lattice top on the apple!

Documenting Growth

The crocus bulbs are making their way in the world. Little by little of course.

Backlogged Blog

We took a lovely though quick trip to Tucson to see family.
