Japanese Tea Garden

Halloween

Sam is to the rescue to help his mom load this giant on our trip to the pumpkin patch:

Gordgeous!

This fellow is from the Annual Pumpkin Stabbing Party :

Autumn Updates

Fiery view from our front porch and autumn walk...

Mushroom Weekend:

As members of the Puget Sound Mycological Society, we have the opportunity to go on their foraging adventures.  We trudged out in the rain for some mushroom hunting near Mt. Rainier.  They had a professional identifier who was pretty incredible in his encyclopedic knowledge, down to the latin name!

A deluge of new babies means lots of baby blanket construction. This one is for Theo, a new addition to my colleagues' brood.

Project List

This is a tissue holder the Japanese students gave me as a gift for the program. I want to try and make more of these!  They are simple and stylish...and you can't beat that Japanese fabric!

Creating Crafty Space

I've been getting the office ready for more time inside. I reconfigured my inspiration board, aka 'power collage'.

Goodbye to Summer...and Daylight

The cool weather has us spending a lot more time indoors. We always welcome the cozy months but it is hard to say goodbye to the daylight!

Between Summer and Autumn Quarter I worked with Japanese Middle School students. I forgot how fun this age can be...and how they have short attention spans and tireless energy!  We had a great time, the boys were funny, playful and even with their limited English, got my jokes.
