A Day In The Life Photos

It has been a busy January so far. Here are some very food-centric photos of our every day life this winter.
Finally got some books that I ordered so I can send the gifts off to their recipients.

Poster from my side of the office. This is for an arts and crafts show in Seattle.

Man works diligently to finish dissertation. He is working double time, hence two lamps.

I'm hoping to try out some new recipes in the coming months. We are creatures of dining habit. We tried out two new marinades...but I made mine up as I went so I can't say it is a true recipe. I want to make my way through my old Cooking Light magazines too!

I've wanted this ceramic to-go mug for a long time. One design flaw is that it gets REALLY HOT so I have to put a coffee sleeve on it so the barista doesn't get burned....and warn them that the cup is heavy, as it has fooled some people before!
Carrot cake with plump raisins and walnuts, cream cheese frosting and cinnamon dusting. We've been reduced to simply grabbing a fork and eating cake right from the pan...sigh.

R's body pillow is complete...including my first embroidery embellishments. It has the same design on the other side. Luckily you can't see all the mistakes from far away!

Mini Pizzas have been a big hit since our holiday party. They turn out better than one big pie. They are little, cute AND delicious!

The bread machine has been earning its keep. We have just eased off the one-loaf-per-day ingestion schedule we were rigorously keeping. So far we have made a number of buttermilk loaves, whole wheat, cinnamon raisin, banana whole wheat, and cinnamon roll dough.

We have had a lot of rain in the last week. It has finally let up and boy what a difference.

R sent off a paper to a literary journal to be published. Thumbs up and fingers crossed.

Result of previously mentioned cinnamon roll dough. They have walnuts and raisins and no refined sugar, only honey. Very tasty. I did find a recipe that emulates the sinfully good Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. Allegedly the key ingredient is vanilla pudding? Check back for confirmation.
